Hawaii State Board of Education

The Hawaii State Board of Education consists of 14 members. Seven of the members are elected according to geographic region and 6 are elected at-large. One non-voting student member also serves on the Board.
Seven geographic members:
- 1st District -- Hawaii - Herbert Watanabe term ends 2008. Second Vice Chairperson
- 2nd District -- Maui - Mary Cochran was reelected in 2006.
- 3rd District -- Honolulu - Denise Matsumoto term ends 2008
- 4th District -- Central Oahu - Eileen Ishihara Clarke elected in 2006.
- 5th District -- Leeward Oahu - Breene Harimoto term ends 2008
- 6th District -- Windward Oahu - John Penebacker elected in 2006.
- 7th District -- Kauai - Maggie Cox term ends 2008
Six Oahu-At-Large members:
- Donna Ikeda elected in 2006.
- Kim Coco Iwamoto elected in 2006.
- Karen Knudsen reelected in 2006.
- Cecil Heftel term ends 2008
- Lei Ahu Isa term ends 2008
- Garrett Toguchi term ends 2008
