Narrative

Stabenow had to fight to unseat Spencer Abraham in '00, and after the gay marriage ban passed in '04, she may be vulnerable to the so-called 'values' attack. Unless she's looking very vulnerable though, the big names (Miller, Rogers, Cox, Land) may sit this one out and wait for an open seat in '08 (if Levin retires) or try for governor in '10 when Granholm is term-limited out.
