This article discusses the 2006 elections for Pennsylvania State House. There are 203 seats on the ballot this year, and Democrats need to pick up nine of them to gain control of the State House. (Note that the following District summaries have not been updated to reflect the primary election on May 16th.)

  • Challenger: Olivia Brady (D) (cw) - Norristown city councilor

District 161

  • Incumbent: Thomas P. Gannon (R)
  • Challenger: Bryan Lentz (D)
  • Outlook: Lentz is a Fighting Dem who withdrew from the 7th District Congressional race to run locally instead. Gannon is virulently anti-choice and anti-gay, and is a prime mover behing PA's hate amendment.
